Each artwork highlights various aspects of my exploration in art making. The 22 artworks are selected from different exhibitions in the past couple decades, with 7 recent paintings. A range from early geometric linework and gestural mark making, to the interplay of colour, texture, and layers, ultimately transitioning to more expansive and fluid strokes. Including recent experiments in digital art with generative AR .
Themes of rhythm, pattern, light, mood, and movement will permeate the collection, inviting viewers to contemplate the underlying complexities of the chaos theory, the cyclical nature of seasons, earth’s topography, along with the elemental forces of nature. Recalling growth, as a way to evoke a sense of rewilding—the return to a natural state of being — to discover pathways along abstract trails.

Wandering Earth, 2003 | Oil on Canvas | 61 x 76 cm
Exhibition:
Distractions. 2004, Emerald Hill, SG
The idea of Distractions came about in the way an artwork is created, as an explorative and reactive process. Not always starting with a fixed end in mind, letting the paint and materials be part of an expression on the surface. In the process, distractions work to inspire the painting in its direction.
Chaos into Light 2006, instinc, SG
Drawing inspiration from the facade of peeling paint. This veneer or overlaying of materials shape the character and sets the pervading mood. Likewise with her technique of building up layers of tonal or contrasting colours which are used to create a surface with depth and texture, movement and light.

Moving Textures 2005,
former Wetterling Teo Gallery, SG
Textures are created when surfaces are given an added dimension; one that comes with various underlying layers, giving an object form and richness.
Works that play with colour and the effects of Impressionism in an abstract way.
Incidently, this was the first time I exhibited in this same Pan Pacific space with Yeo Shih Yun and Wyn Lyn Tan.
On Colours and Seasons series from 2006
After Vermont Artist Residency, 2009. Thinking about colour tones, fields and the seasons (spring, summer, autumn, winter) .
